Keep Discussions Technically Relevant

Discussions should contribute to maintenance, reliability, engineering, industrial technology, operations, safety, diagnostics or related professional knowledge. Provide enough technical context for other professionals to understand the problem and do not deliberately post misleading technical information.

Share Real Experience Responsibly

Real-world failure cases and field experience are highly valuable. Remove confidential, proprietary or personally identifiable information before publishing.

• Passwords, access credentials or security information

Safety Comes First

Technical discussions must not encourage unsafe maintenance or operating practices. Clearly identify significant safety risks when giving recommendations.

Community advice never replaces site-specific procedures, manufacturer instructions, engineering review, legal requirements, safety regulations or qualified professional judgment.

Support Claims with Evidence

Whenever possible, support conclusions with measurements, inspection findings, photographs, trend data, standards, manufacturer documentation, engineering calculations or reliable technical references.

Clearly distinguish confirmed facts, observations, engineering interpretation, hypotheses and personal experience.

Do Not Fabricate Data

Do not invent measurements, failure histories, inspection findings, maintenance records, test results, technical references or professional credentials. If information is unknown or estimated, state that clearly.

Respect Intellectual Property

Only upload or reproduce material you have permission to share. Full copyrighted documents, proprietary manuals or paid resources must not be redistributed without authorization. Where possible, link to the original source.

Commercial Content and Spam

UptimeLibrary is not an advertising board. Do not post repetitive promotions, referral spam, irrelevant sales messages or deceptive marketing. Products or companies may be mentioned when genuinely relevant; disclose commercial relationships or conflicts of interest.

AI-Generated Content

AI tools may assist research, writing, translation or analysis, but members remain responsible for accuracy. Review AI-generated technical conclusions before posting and never present unreviewed automation as verified engineering fact.

Privacy

Respect other members’ privacy. Do not publish another person’s email address, telephone number, private messages, precise address, personal documents or private employment information without permission.

Member Profiles

Professional profile information should be accurate. Impersonation and false qualifications, fabricated experience or misleading identities are prohibited.

Forum Quality

Before creating a topic, search for an existing discussion, use a clear technical title, select the best category and provide useful context. Avoid duplicates and vague titles such as “Help”, “Problem” or “Urgent”.

Prefer specific titles such as “Centrifugal pump vibration increases above 70% load” or “ID Fan pitch command and feedback mismatch during operation”.

Answers and Technical Replies

Good replies explain what should be checked, why it matters, which result would support the hypothesis and which alternative causes should be considered. Avoid unsupported one-line diagnoses for complex failures.

Reporting Content

Report apparent violations in good faith. Abuse of the reporting system may itself result in moderation action.

Moderation

UptimeLibrary may edit formatting, move discussions, remove spam or unsafe and abusive content, and restrict, suspend or remove accounts when necessary.

Moderation decisions prioritize professional conduct, technical quality, safety, privacy and community trust.

Repeated Violations

Repeated or serious violations may result in temporary or permanent account restrictions. Severe cases may result in immediate removal.
